Our Mission
Springboard Press’s mission is to publish quality prescriptive and narrative nonfiction books for the roughly 77 million Baby Boomers who are in search of inspiration, entertainment, and reinvention in their lives. The categories of these books, by authoritative and celebrated authors, range from memoir and popular culture to beauty, well-being, inspiration, relationships, and career.
Our Staff
Karen Murgolo, Founding Editorial Director of Springboard Press, acquires and edits books that will inspire, entertain and inform readers in midlife. Among the authors she’s worked with are Bobbi Brown (Bobbi Brown Living Beauty), Kathleen Turner (Send Yourself Roses), Charles Grodin (If I Only Knew Then…Learning from Our Mistakes), Charla Krupp (How Not to Look Old), and Barbara Corcoran (Nextville: Amazing Places to Spend the Rest of Your Life). She is always looking for strong narrative nonfiction on subjects—from memoir to popular culture–that will resonate with Boomers, and she is also interested in books by authoritative experts in well-being, beauty, and style.
Natalie Kaire, Editor, acquires and edits wide range of Springboard titles, all of which provide readers with a new solution or a new approach that will improve and compliment their lives — in the relationships, self-improvement, wellness, and personal finance categories. She is always looking for dynamic, personality-driven books, as well as high-concept, smart projects. Her upcoming titles include Getting Naked Again by Today show regular Dr. Judith Sills, advice on finding romance and love for newly-single Boomer women; and A Million is Not Enough, a guide to building a financially sound retirement from America’s Wealth Architect Michael Farr.
Tom Hardej, Assistant Editor, is not a Boomer, but he does enjoy reading Boomer books, primarily prescriptive or narrative non-fiction with male voices and pop culture relevance. He has worked on The Boomer Century by Richard Croker, If I Only Knew Then…by Charles Grodin and Friends and Friends of Friends, and The Shiniest Jewel by Marian Henley.
Matthew Ballast, Executive Director of Publicity for Springboard Press and Grand Central Publishing, has created the media campaigns for a diverse list of Springboard authors including Bobbi Brown, Sharon Osbourne, Katherine Lanpher, Charles Grodin, Charla Krupp, Kathleen Turner and Dr. Susan Kleiner. Over the years, he has handled publicity campaigns for a wide variety of authors and books, ranging from beauty and style (Linda Wells, Rachel Zoe, Kevyn Aucoin), to celebrities (Kim Cattrall, Gretchen Wilson) to prominent health and wellness authors (Dr. Sanjay Gupta) to pop culture brands/icons (Harley-Davidson, PBS, Sinatra Family Estate) and lifestyle personalities (Katie Brown, Preston Bailey).
Erica Gelbard, Senior Publicist, has headed up publicity campaigns for an exciting range of Springboard titles, including Coming of Age… All Over Again by Kate Klimo and Buffy Shutt, The Boomer Century by Richard Croker, and Training for Life by Debbie Rocker. She enjoys reading and working on narrative non-fiction, health, beauty, and wellness titles.
Melissa Bullock, Publicity Assistant, has been involved with the publicity campaigns of a variety of Springboard titles including Over the Hill and Between the Sheets by Gail Belsky and My Next Phase by Eric Sundstrom, Randy Burnham, and Michael Burnham. While she reads anything and everything at home, she enjoys working primarily on illustrated beauty/style/wellness books and romance fiction.
