The Library of Michigan has named Mary Ellen Geist’s Measure of the Heart one of it’s 2009 notable books! Each year this exclusive and prestigious list is compiled for the 20 most notable Michigan titles published the previous year, out of over 300 submissions. There will be celebratory events, including an author reception and statewide tour in April 2009. Congrats, Mary Ellen!!

Mary Ellen Geist was also featured again on Jane Gross’ great The New Old Age blog last week on the New York Times website.

Mary Ellen Geist’s new book Measure of the Heart is now in stores. She was on the Today show last week to talk about it. You can read an excerpt from the book and watch the video here.

To say that Kathie Lee Gifford was moved by the book, is an understatement. The book speaks to the millions of caregivers out there looking for inspiration and advice.
